- Background Story: Was born in Baltimore, Md. but moved with his family to Dallas at the age of 14. His father, also named Kenny, was a goalkeeper for Blackburn in England and for the Dallas Tornado of the North American Soccer League. In 2003 Dallas Cup, the younger Kenny Cooper was identified by a Manchester United scout and received a tryout later that summer. That following fall, he signed a three-year contract and became a regular on Manchester United's reserve team.

My parents and coaches told me to enjoy the game and not to take being able to play for granted.

My father, for sure. We have a special relationship and he was always able to give me good advice on and off the field.

Growing up my favorite player was Ronaldo from Brazil and I’ve heard a lot of stories about Pele’, my father was able to play against him.
